2000
Agulhas de tricô
Dimensões variáveis
Coleccion Andrés Brun y Juan José Cattaneo
Ana Gallardo created Material Descartável (Disposable Material), as a sculpture in 2000, and rebuilt it for the Biennial 12. Ana Gallardo exposes, with extreme force, a cluster of knitting needles, instruments used by underprivileged women to make abortions in Argentina, as they are illegal and clandestine in this country. Many are the disadvantaged women who die from lack of hygiene. The abortion legalization is now on the country’s agenda; a large group of people have been following the parliament debates and monitoring them.
